Flight for Life Clinical Director

The Flight For Life Clinical Director (FFL-CD) is an full administrative position, reporting to the Air Services Director (ASD) of Flight For Life.
This position provides overall supervision and leadership of Flight For Life clinical and educational staff, and including overall responsibility for staffing, scheduling, payroll, orientation, staff development, continuing education, CQI/PI, employee performance/counseling, policy/procedure development, and budget and financial management.
The position is primarily focused on tactical and operational leadership of Flight For Life.
This position has a split responsibility for clinical oversight and strategic development as assigned by the ASD.
The FFL-CD will assume overall administrative responsibility for the ASD on an on-call basis, and in the absence of the ASD.
This position demonstrates practical and conceptual abilities in both the clinical and business fields, oversees Flight For Life activities, provides mentorship and fosters staff growth both clinically and as project managers.
The position serves as liaison to the Medical Director(s) and Medical Control Board.
Despite the fulltime administrative nature of the position the FFL-CD should be capable of functioning independently as a member of the Flight For Life clinical staff in the delivery of critical care transport services, as needed to bridge clinical-staff scheduling anomalies.
Qualifications:
Required:
o Licensed as a paramedic and / or registered nurse in the State of Texas o All required certifications consistent with FFL Flight Nurse or Flight Paramedic position descriptions within one year of hire o Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in healthcare, public safety, or business related field o Five plus years of progressive management experience in medical transport and/or a related health care business.
o Three plus years of organizational interface with an FAA Part 135 air operator.
o Excellent public speaking and writing skills required.
Proven ability in business development required.
Hospital system experience desired.
o Three years experience in the following:
direct supervision of heath care/patient care services, working in a tertiary hospital, developing budgets and implementing programs within budgeting limitations.
o Experience and knowledge of effective management and supervisory skills.
o Excellent public, employee and customer relations skills.
o Experience with continuous quality improvement, quality management, or other quality specialty.
o Knowledge of all related federal, state, local and transport industry safety/regulatory practices; demonstrates ability to manage FFL operations to meet/exceed such standards.
o Demonstrates excellent customer service even under adverse conditions and a track record of making sound decisions, managing multiple priorities with appropriate prioritizing; and, the ability to effectively communicate with the senior leadership of Metro Health Medical Center.
o Experience in the professional performance/commitment, which is aligned with the values and mission of FFL and within the Trinity Mother Frances Healthcare System.
o Experience with the operation of health care computer systems Preferred:
o Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA), Nursing (MSN) or Public Administration (MPA).
o CMTE - Certified Medical Transport Executive o FACHE - Fellow American College of Health Care Executives or current in engagement in ACHE (American College of Health Care Executives or similar organizations.
o Current or past experience in medical transport operations one or more of the following fields:
Aviation, Maintenance, Ground Transport, EMS, Transport medicine o Multi-modal transport experience; rotor wing air medical, fixed wing air medical, critical care ground transport, special operations EMS, etc.
o Experience with electronic medical records as related to medical transport o Experience interfacing with one or more of the accrediting bodies that have jurisdiction over medical transport operations - CAMTS - Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems, CAAS - Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services, NAED - National Academies of Emergency Dispatch Center of Excellence o Experience with accounts receivable nuances associated with medical transport reimbursement o Experience with spreadsheet, word processing, project management, web development software o Knowledge / Experience in performance / production management i.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
