SUMMARY OF
Essential Functions:
Under close supervision, repairs returned seals and seal parts. With assistance identifies, inspects and evaluates material.
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
With assistance, identifies and inspects material returned. Records information on designated forms.
With assistance, evaluates from condition of material, current drawing revisions and product knowledge whether material is restockable or repairable. Receives assistance from Sr. Seal Repair personnel or supervisor when needed.
May perform simple operations on engine lathe drill press (single spindle), tool post grinder, bead blast polisher and lapping machine.
Verifies part specifications with measuring instruments such as micrometer, vernier caliper, dial indicator and optical flats.
May initiate purchase orders for new job orders if vendors are involved.
Consults with Engineering department or Sales departments as necessary.
Works from factory work orders, prints, rework orders and verbal instructions.
Performs contract lapping - at times rebuilds pumps, etc.

Complete all work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements consistent with supporting the Company's goals.
Lifting guidelines in accordance with the Manual Lifting Guidelines noted in the Safety Handbook.
Follow all environmental requirements consistent with supporting the company's environmental performance goals.
Complete, and actively participate in all other EHS training requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Requires high school education or equivalent
Ability to read and interpret simple drawings
May require ability to make simple arithmetic calculations using decimals, fractions and/or metrics
Over 12 month's previous related shop experience plus two to six months on-the-job training
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to sit for extend periods of time; a minimum of 2 hours.
Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the office, shop, warehouse, or manufacturing plant
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment.
Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives, changing priorities and reassign priorities to complete assignments.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work environment is typically considered within a Smiths location during normal or extended business hours to include offices, manufacturing plants and repair facilities. Work environment may also include customer sites including oil well sites, and meeting venues.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and approved PPE is required when on the factory floor

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
