Physician (Longview CBOC)

The incumbent will serve as a Part-Time Staff Physician at Longview Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) under the Assistant Chief, Primary Care Service. Duties will include, but not limited to the following:
Perform and record history and physical examinations and records data from clinic visit. Evaluates, consults, develops diagnosis, and manages the primary care patients assigned. Order diagnostic tests, medications, laboratory tests as medically relevant for each patient. Provides timely follow-up on results, including completion of view alerts. Determines medical assessment and develop treatment plans according to accepted protocols. Prescribes medication according to approved formulary, and in accordance with Federal and State Law. Works closely with interdisciplinary Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) in managing patient care. Enters progress notes in computerized medical record and completes workload documentation in a timely manner. Provides medical care encompassing acute and chronic medical conditions. Work Schedule:

United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Placement in this position is subject to meeting the physical requirements of this position. Pre-placement medical examination is required. See VA Directive and Handbook 5019. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
